In the swing of Spring

As forecast, October and the early part of November has been a busy period for us, with a lot of properties coming onto the market, the start of our wedding season and a fair bit of commercial work happening at the same time.

Indeed, we started last week by photographing The Tasmanian Governor His Excellency, The Honorable Peter Underwood AC visiting the Australian Maritime College’s extremely impressive simulation centre. The simulation centre (and the AMC itself) is a real boon to the Tasmanian economy – drawing clients and students from around the world.

We also photographed two weddings – one a Cup Day affair with Mel and Rob, the other this past Saturday in the grounds of a gorgeous vineyard at Lilydale with Erin and Matt. Both weddings were great fun – reflecting the couples’ personalties and the planning and thought that went into their days. Great people always equals great wedding photos and we got heaps of top shots that we’ll be polishing up in the weeks that come.

In between were plenty of properties to photograph and draw up floorplans for. There’s a real ‘gold rush’ feel to the Launceston housing market at present, with agents reporting not just a lot of listings but plenty of sales – if, as ever – the properties are priced right. Again though, preparation yields rewards and when sellers take the time to stage their homes the results can add significant value to the property.

And to round off the week the photos that we took for the Down Under Guys Gear website have started to be posted online. We were commissioned to take a heap of shots and turned them around in record time so that the products will be online in the lead-up to the all-important Christmas shopping period.
